- Best for
- Team wikis, docs and project tracking
Notion is a single workspace for documents, databases, wikis and project tracking. Teams run their company wiki in it; individuals use it for notes, planning and personal systems.
Who Notion is for
Solo users get a lot for nothing. On the free plan a workspace with one owner has unlimited blocks, so you will not run out of room for notes.
The limits bite the moment you add people. Notion caps a free workspace at 1,000 blocks once it has two or more owners, which a working team burns through in weeks.
Which Notion plan should you pick?
Plus at $10 per user a month removes the file upload cap, extends page history to 30 days and allows unlimited guests. It is the right plan for most small teams.
Business at $20 per user a month is where AI stops being a trial. It adds Notion Agents, AI meeting notes, enterprise search and SAML SSO.
Enterprise is custom priced. It adds SCIM provisioning, audit logs and zero data retention with the underlying model providers.
Students and educators can get Plus free on a single-member workspace with an eligible school email.

Notion FAQs
Is Notion free?
Yes. The free plan is generous for one person and includes unlimited blocks when the workspace has a single owner.
Does the free plan have a block limit?
Only in shared workspaces. A free workspace with one owner is unlimited. Once a second owner joins, the workspace caps at 1,000 blocks and must upgrade to keep adding content.
How much does Notion cost per user?
Plus is $10 per user a month and Business is $20 per user a month, both cheaper on annual billing. Enterprise is custom priced.
Is Notion AI included in the price?
Only as a limited trial on Free, Plus and Business. Full AI access, including Notion Agents and AI meeting notes, comes with Business and Enterprise. Custom agents are free to try, then $10 per 1,000 monthly credits.
Is Notion free for students?
Yes. The Plus plan is free for students and educators with an eligible school email address, limited to a one-member workspace.
How many guests can I invite?
Ten external guests on Free, and unlimited guests from Plus upwards.
What happens to my content if I downgrade?
Your pages stay, but you lose the paid limits. In a shared workspace that means you cannot add new blocks past 1,000 until you upgrade again.
Is Business worth it over Plus?
Only if you want the AI features, enterprise search or SAML SSO. If you just need collaboration and file uploads, Plus does the job at half the price.
Where does the 4.6 rating come from?
It is the aggregate score from 13,739 reviewers on G2, checked 12 August 2026. It is not our own hands-on test score.
