This policy explains what we collect when you visit aialternatives.io, why we collect it, and what control you have. We have tried to write it in plain language rather than legal filler.

1. Who we are

AI Alternatives publishes independent reviews and comparisons of AI software. For any privacy question, write to hello@aialternatives.io.

2. What we collect

  • Analytics data. Aggregated information about pages viewed, approximate region, referring site and device type, used to understand which reviews are useful.
  • Information you send us. If you use a contact or submission form, the message opens in your own email client, so we only receive what you choose to send from your own address.
  • Newsletter details. If you subscribe, we store your email address and subscription date until you unsubscribe.
  • Technical logs. Standard server logs including IP address and user agent, kept for a short period for security and troubleshooting.

3. What we do not collect

We do not ask for or store payment details, and we do not build advertising profiles or sell personal data to anyone.

4. Cookies and similar technology

Essential cookies keep the site working. Analytics and affiliate-tracking cookies may be set when you follow an outbound link to a vendor. You can block or delete cookies in your browser at any time; the site will still work, though some preferences will not be remembered.

5. Affiliate tracking

When you follow a commercial link, the destination vendor may set its own cookie to attribute a later subscription to us. That process is controlled by the vendor and covered by their privacy policy, not ours. See our affiliate disclosure for the commercial detail.

6. Legal bases and purposes

We process data to operate and secure the site, to answer messages you send us, to send a newsletter where you have asked for one, and to understand aggregate usage so we can improve coverage. Where consent is required, we ask for it and you can withdraw it at any time.

7. Sharing

We share data only with service providers who host the site, deliver email or provide analytics, and only to the extent needed to deliver those services. We may disclose information if the law requires it.

8. Retention

Messages are kept only as long as needed to deal with the matter raised. Newsletter records are kept until you unsubscribe. Server logs are kept for a short, rolling period.

9. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export the personal data we hold about you, to object to certain processing, and to complain to your local data protection authority. To exercise any of these, email hello@aialternatives.io and we will respond as quickly as we can.

10. Children

This site is intended for adults making software purchasing decisions. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

11. International transfers

Some of our service providers operate outside your country. Where data is transferred internationally, we rely on the safeguards those providers put in place for such transfers.

12. Changes

If this policy changes materially, we will update the date at the top of this page and, where the change is significant, note it on the site.
